Bortana EV Prototype

The Bortana EV prototype is a collaborative project between 3ME Technology, Safescape (Mining Service Company) and Agrale (Brazilian Vehicle Manufacturer).

Safescape identified the opportunity to develop a superior mine-ready underground electric utility vehicle for the Australian mining industry and engaged 3ME Technology to conduct the full system integration on the prototype, supported by Agrale in Brazil.

The Bortana EV was part of Project EVmine, led by 3ME Technology and supported by METS Ignited (https://www.metsignited.org/Chapter?Action=View&Chapter_id=14) focused on accelerating the uptake of electric vehicles in Australian underground mining.

3ME Technology is now focused on supporting Safescape's Bortana EV production plans.

What we did

Final Results

Safescape launched the Bortana EV in Brisbane in May 2019 following a successful static demonstration at Austmine 2019 conference

The Bortana EV prototype has undergone local mine site testing in Newcastle NSW before an extended trail with Kirkland Lake Gold's site in Fosterville VIC.

Safescape is ramping up Bortana EV production through a Beta Phase commencing in early 2020.
